Maintenance
Living walls are designed and assembled to enable safe and easy access for cleaning, maintenance, and replacement of parts.
To ensure the long-term health of our living walls, we provide full in-house maintenance service. This includes general assessment of the system and plant health; plant replacement where plant species have failed or are struggling; feed and irrigation calibration and servicing.
Research Testing and Development
We take our leadership in this industry seriously. In addition to continuous plant and system trials at our facilities; our patented living wall system have been subjected to rigorous industry testing designed specifically for cladding materials.
Acoustic Testing
With a Noise Reduction Coefficient of 0.70 and a Sound Absorption Average of 0.71 the Biotecture Living Wall System can be considered as a Class C material for Sound Absorption.
Fire Testing
We engaged International Fire Consultants (IFC) to undertake a full Engineering Reaction to Fire Assessment Report including comprehensive live testing of the full system. The destructive testing was carried out at the BRE Laboratories. The IFC report confirmed that: “The Biotecture living wall system predicted reaction to fire performance is B-s3,d2”.
This means that the Biotecture Living Wall system meets the performance criteria set out in the Building Regulations Approved Document B: Fire Safety for buildings over 18metres tall.
